Welcome! My name is London England, and I am a Systems Engineer at Boeing (Commercial Airplanes) in Seattle, WA. I started tutoring in March 2021 after recognizing my tutoring abilities could help more than just my friends. I now tutor core engineering classes (Including Physics, Statics, Deforms, Linear Algebra, Calculus I, and Calculus III) as well as junior-level Mechanical Engineering classes (Including Economics, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Mechanical Design, and Mechanical Engineering Lab).
I first met Scott in a Statics review session as a sophomore through a mutual friend/student of Scott. Scott’s techniques and problem-solving methods helped me to become a better learner. As I was in the process of becoming a tutor for Scott Gong Tutoring, I was excited to begin the role as I would be able to help other students learn while helping myself to better understand the material.
As of December 2022, I finished my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. During Summers 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, I interned with General Electric Aerospace where I worked with one of their customers to identify sources of higher jet engine operating costs, developed software to improve manufacturing and inventory data processing, and employed root-cause analysis techniques to identify causes of manufacturing process failures and bottlenecks. I have held design and leadership roles as a part of Rocketry at Virginia Tech, an engineering design team which competes in the annual Spaceport America Cup. I also recently served as the Program Coordinator for the Innovate Living Learning Community based in CID.
In my personal time, I enjoy travelling, commercial aviation (Including flying in my flight simulator), biking, hiking, and cooking (It’s raw!!). I look forward to meeting everyone and hope to help you achieve your goals!
